*NEW* 2018 High School Overnight Camp

Camp Dates & Times:

Saturday, July 21 (Registration 8:30-9 A.M.)

 Sunday, July 22 (Camp ends 6 P.M.)

Location:

Messiah College – Starry Athletic Complex

Grantham, PA (10 miles South of Harrisburg)

This is truly a unique experience and embodies all of who we are at Messiah Baseball. 

Camp Focus:

For Players: Our high school camp Blends collegiate-level instructional learning with game-play experience. Mornings are geared towards instructional clinics and workouts, while afternoons and evenings are dedicated to game-play. We want attending players to receive 40 packed hours of the college baseball experience – from groundball routines and advanced hitting approaches to our Dining hall buffet and Overnight dorm life. 

 For Coaches: We want to encourage local coaches to attend with multiple members of their team/organization, helping shape a Central PA coaching community of both sharing and learning concepts that apply to the high school and college level. Roundtable coaches’ clinics will be held Saturday night and Sunday morning. 

 Camp Cost:

Individual Rate: $215 per player

 Team Rates:  

  • RATE for 3-6 Players from same Team/Organization: $200 per player
  • Rate for 7-9 Players From Same Team/Organization: $180 per player
  • Rate for 9+ Players from Same Team/Organization: $160 per Player 

     We love to have coaches attend

    Head Coaches RATE: 

  • FREE (Must have 3+ players in attendance)

    Assistant Coaches RATE: 

  • $90 per coach
  • FREE (Must have 9+ players in attendance)

9:00-9:45     Pro-Style Workout and Metric Testing 

9:45-11:45   Instructional clinics

1:30            Game #1

8:00-9:00     Showers and Dorm set-up 

9:00-11:30   Players: Roundtable With

Morning Session:

7:00            worship (optional) 

8:00            Breakfast

9:00-11:30   Instructional Clinics

Afternoon Session: 

1:00            Game #3

3:30            Championship/Consolation Games 

 ** No dinner provided day 2 **

Number of games played:

4 games will be played over the weekend. 

 Game Length:

Each game will be timed at 135 minutes except for the consolation/championship (full 7 innings). There will be a 6-run “mercy rule” scoring limit per inning to keep games moving in a timely fashion. 

 Game Umpires:

Games will be umpired be Messiah College Baseball staff. 

 Lodging:

Air-conditioned dormswith two players to a room. If odd numbers attend, three to room will be allowed. There are no refrigerators in the rooms. 

 Dining:

ALL-You-Can-Eat meals in Lottie Nelson Dining Hall. 

 Camp Features:

  • Blended format featuring collegiate level training and game-play
  • Certified training staff
  • Coaches hospitality and round-table clinic 
  • Camp store and snack bar
  • players receive first-hand experience of college life and interact with Messiah College baseball players

ADDITIONAL CAMPER INFORMATION:

After we receive your camper registration forms, we will send an information sheet in early july to you and each of your players directly. 

Mixed teams:

We understand that not every team may be able to attend with 9 players. Teams are still welcome to attend with as little as 3 players, who will then be placed on a “mixed” team with a joint coaching staff. We will communicate with coaches to create mixed teams that allow each player to gain valuable time and experience in their preferred position. Mixed teams will have no more than 10 hitters and 5 pitchers to a team.

Starry Athletic Baseball Field

Starry Field is located on the campus of Messiah College and is one of the more picturesque baseball venues in the Mid Atlantic Region.  The field sits on the banks of the yellow breeches and provides fans with and excellent view while sitting on the terraced hill surrounding the stadium.  The stadium also has batting cages and designated bull pen areas.

Hitchcock Arena

Starry Athletic Baseball Field

Our indoor camps will be held in the Sollenberger Sports Complex. Hitchcock Arena is located closest to the main entrance of campus. Our four full basketball courts allow us to work indoors and provide campers with a full infield, batting cage, portable mounds, and long toss space.
